While our main goal was to find a gold medal-worthy fallow deer, we were lucky to encounter red deer and wild boar along the way. The hunter and his father couldn’t stop enjoying the diversity of species around them, and that brought us great satisfaction. With the sun climbing higher and temperatures rising, the fallow deer began to settle down for rest. Sensing this, we started heading back to the vehicle, ready to accept that luck might not be on our side this time. Our plan was to return to the hotel for a meal and a siesta before heading back out in the afternoon to try again.

Just 20 minutes from the car, when hope was fading, an incredible opportunity appeared that demanded quick action. We were walking with less caution, not expecting to find any more game, when suddenly we came face to face with a gold medal fallow deer.
The fallow deer spotted us and stood still for a few seconds. Because the wind was in our favor, even though the animal saw us, it hesitated before fleeing. Our friend reacted quickly and made a perfect shot, with the fallow deer running less than 50 meters before falling.
